Game Overview

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is a remake of the original installment, the 1992 Famicom game Fire Emblem Gaiden. Contrary to the original which was only exclusive to the Japanese systems, it will now feature a Western release for the Nintendo 3DS.

In Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, the illustrations presented in the game will showcase the expertise of Fire Emblem Fates Artist Hidari, along with full-voice acting and studio animation courtesy of Studio Khara.

Localization for the game will be done by 8-4 which is the same company that brought Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and Fire Emblem: Awakening. In addition, the game introduces two new Amiibos namely the Alm Amiibo and Celica Amiibo.

Gameplay

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia will remain faithful to the original game and will incorporate new elements: Dungeon Exploration or free movement, branching class mechanics, Mila’s Fountain which allows reviving of fallen allies, and Shield mechanic which weakens an enemy’s Raid damage.

Story

The game features two main characters Alm and Celica.

Alm and Celica are close friends, brought up from the same Village by their adoptive grandfather Mycen. Although they were under his care, they eventually grew separately. As residents of the Valencia Region, they got caught in the war.

The story follows the events of the two main characters. Alm who is an idealist fighting for justice. On the other hand, Celica, formerly known as Princess Anteze, is a kind peacekeeper. As a fighter, Alm mainly uses Physical Raids, whereas Celica the sage complements him with powerful Magic Raids. The game’s charm stems from the contrast between the two main characters, where Alm whose morals can reach even the verge of recklessness contrasts with Celica’s wit as she upholds peace.

  1. Never mind, finally got the Blitzkrieg award, took me 2-3 tries to beat the final boss with an underleveled party, though. Either way, I think this could use a guide on how to achieve the different awards.

  2. This walkthrough is pretty helpful, but how come there aren’t any tips on how to achieve the Blitzkrieg medal? Just wondering. Especially since its impossible to beat chapter 4 and 5 without grinding, least that’s what I think.
