New characters and gameplay tweaks in 1st FEH update [Fire Emblem Heroes]

The first major update for Nintendo’s mobile game Fire Emblem Heroes has dropped, bringing with it a set of new characters as well as a limited-time series of quests.

New Characters

The Family Bonds Summoning event features siblings Ephraim and Eirika, who originally appeared in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, and Seliph and Julia from Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. The event comes at the heels of the recently-concluded launch summoning focus events.

Included with the update package are the first series of Paralogue story extension maps. A three-mission side chapter featuring the new characters can be played for a limited time, while special rewards can be earned by players who have completed a series of Family Bonds missions.

On the gameplay side, Fire Emblem Heroes has tweaked its stamina mechanic, addressing complaints from some players. Fighting in battles won’t cost the player additional stamina, nor will equipping and changing skills. Furthermore, Fire Emblem Heroes will continue to reward players who log on daily with two free orbs a day up to March 14.
