With the anticipated release of Gravity Rush 2 just around the corner (January 20, 2017), Studio Khara belts out a fully-animated short titled Gravity Rush: The Animation ~ Overture ~. The anime film sets the stage for the events of the second game which connects the story where the first left off.
Gravity Rush: The Animation ~ Overture ~
Produced mostly in 3D, Overture clears some of the fog as to why the Nevi are becoming increasingly violent. It follows the downtime of the Shifter pair Kat and Raven as Nevi begin to wreak havoc in town and their attempts to uncover the cause behind it. And while the audio is set entirely in a fictional language with subtitles, the animated short is something special to behold. And what’s more, it features an awesome score by Kohei Tanaka, the game’s main composer himself.
The anime also comes in Blu-ray as part of the Gravity Rush 2 Collector’s Edition game bundle.
