Kingdom Hearts 3 Delayed?
The most anticipated game, Kingdom Hearts 3, suffered a delay. But the real question is? What’s taking Kingdom Hearts 3 so long? Considering that this game has a large fan base, fans are left at a loss as to what’s holding up development.
Priority Delays
According to Tetsuya Nomura, he says that the development cycle of Kingdom Hearts 3 is “out of his hands”. The director of Kingdom Hearts 3 soon reveals that the delays were due to “development choices”. The higher ups of Square Enix had swapped between different development choices which resulted to a delay in the game.
One of the swaps performed was the utilization of a third party Unreal Engine 4. Nomura also mentioned that when he sent in the proposal, it had to conform to the company’s schedule. He also mentioned while people made it appear as if it were his fault, Nomura mentions that the company’s constant switch and pulling out of personnel caused the delay.
He wanted to emphasize however that his decision stemmed since the production of Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Nomura back then decided to reboot Final Fantasy Versus XIII into Final Fantasy XV before placing Hajima Tabata as the new director. By then, he said that the actions taken were due to many technicalities that were “out of his hands”.
