Worlds is Approaching once again. To many people, they’ve been waiting for the start of the tournament to begin and to cheer for their favorite teams who will be competing. For some, however, it’s time to look at what Riot has in store for us when it comes to Worlds theme song which they release every year before Worlds.

With the recent release of the new music video, Legends Never Die, it’s safe to create a list of the Worlds theme song riot has released thus far. Take note that this is only my opinion, so you may take this with a grain of salt if you want. Here are my list of the least to best Worlds theme song to date!

 #4 Worlds 2016: Ignite – Zedd

Despite the very trippy and aesthetically pleasing music video that came with the release of this theme song, the song was lacking something that the other releases delivered. The music was very loud and sometimes tend to shift abruptly between the EDM elements and the message of the lyrics that Zedd wants to portray.

It doesn’t give the same feels as the other themes. However, we are not saying that the music is bad, but there are better songs that can hype us for Worlds – and this is last on our list.

#3 Worlds 2017: Legends Never Die – Against The Current

Legends Never Day is our third on the list. This latest theme song delivered really well in terms of lyrics and the overall structure of the song. The verse leading up to the chorus is spine-chilling, as the vocalist slowly transitions from a withdrawn and timid voice to suddenly singing her heart out in the chorus.

This song is a very close second to our next song on the list.

#2 Worlds  2015: Worlds Collide – Nicki Taylor

The second song on our list is none other than Nicki Taylor’s Worlds Collide. This song perfectly fits the situation of the world championship that time with the line “Can we bring to fall the giants, can we make the final call?” which perfectly sums up how SKT T1 was a heavy favorite in winning it all and how the other teams can overcome the Korean powerhouse.

The song itself is very engaging, with the voice of Nicki Taylor perfectly mixing with the instrumentals. The chorus can get you very pumped up, especially when she chants the line “We are the ones to ignite the darkened skies.”

#1 Worlds 2014: Warriors – Imagine Dragons

Topping off our list is the first Worlds theme Song, Warriors by Imagine Dragons. Nothing can ever top this rock song about following your dreams and finishing strong despite the obstacles that come your way.

The music video fit really well with the narrative song, showing the hardships of professional players in their quest to glory.

What makes the song very catchy and relatable is that we are dropped in the perspectives of these players. The hardships they face and the constant struggle to improve in their craft. The music video perfectly summed up the narrative of the lyrics, blending the fantasy world of League of Legends while the players are  in front of their computer screens.

Lastly, the line “We are the warriors that built this town.” and how lead vocalist Dan Reynolds emphasized the line with his gritty yet melodic voice. Overall, it would take a very good song to take this off our number 1. Everything about it is perfect.
