How to increase Exp and Money through Battle Buffet [Pokémon Sun and Moon]

Dine and participate in battles through the Battle Buffet!

This article contains information on the rewards and explanation for Battle Buffet in Pokémon Sun and Moon.

What is the Battle Buffet?

For a maximum of 10 turns, you can challenge trainers to earn Exp and prize money.
The entrance fee is 1200 pokédollars. If you are defeated, you lose the amount. It is recommended to participate in the Battle Buffet before finishing the Main Story since the opponent’s Pokemon are around level 15.

The number of turns counted is dependent on the battle turns spent. Therefore, it is recommended to defeat the trainers quickly since if 10 turns have passed in one battle, the Battle Buffet ends.

Reward for finishing the Battle Buffet

Exp and prize money can be obtained after defeating a trainer within 10 turns. Bonus items will be rewarded if certain conditions are met.
The prize money will vary based on if the Main Story has been finished or not.
The information summarizes the amount of prize money earned before and after finishing the Main Story.

This calculation is based on the assumption that each trainer was defeated in 1 turn, and excludes the entrance fee of 1200 pokédollars.

● Before finishing the Main Story

1 battle (average payout): about 500 pokédollars / Exp earned: 50
Daily average reward: about 5,000 pokédollars / Exp earned (estimate): 500

● After finishing the Main Story

1 battle (average payout): about 1,500 pokédollars / Exp earned: 1,500
Daily average reward: about 15,000 pokédollars / Exp earned (estimate): 15,000

How to increase earnings

Since Battle Buffet rewards prize money and Exp upon completion, it is recommended to use the item Amulet coin in order to double the earnings.
It requires defeating an opponent under 10 turns, therefore buff moves such as Dragon Dance and Swords Dance, etc. are recommended.
After defeating a trainer, the HP of your Pokemon will not be restored, therefore please avoid using Pokemon with low Speed. The recommended Pokemon to use that take the least amount of turns for the Battle Buffet are High Speed and Attack, or High Speed and Sp. Attack.

Where to find the Battle Buffet

The Battle Buffet can be found at the 2nd floor of the Hau’oli City Shopping District.
The fastest way to access the area is after finishing the Melemele Island Grand Trial.
