E3 2017 Features the Return of a Game Franchise on Sony Platforms [Monster Hunter World]

The last time a Monster Hunter game was ever brought overseas and onto a Sony platform was all the way back in 2009, on the PSP, with Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. Since then, all succeeding entries of the franchise were released strictly for the Wii or 3DS.

But with Sony’s latest announcement in E3 2017, the long wait is finally over, as the fantasy action role-playing franchise makes a comeback on their platforms.

Monster Hunter World Will Be on PS4, XBoxOne, and PC by 2018

In the recent Sony E3, it was announced that Capcom’s Monster Hunter World is coming to the PS4 by early 2018, and it will also be released on the XBox One and PC.

Given the latest video, fans will be treated to both familiar features and fresh ones. Players will once again be traversing lush landscapes, gathering food and materials from the highly interactive environments, and, of course, going toe-to-toe with enormous beasts, making full use of their various items and weaponry. The trailer also showed some interesting new gameplay aspects, such as using grass and bushes for stealth, as well as more agile movement with what seems to be a grappling hook.

From what Capcom has announced, the game will also feature co-op play with up to three hunters, as well as a more open world system. Details are still scarce, but it is surely a game to watch out for in the coming months.
