Spider-Man PS4 Swings by With a New Trailer at E3 2017

Spider-Man PS4 was announced last year, but at Sony’s press conference in E3 2017, we get a much longer trailer showing off a lot of the exciting gameplay and some of the storyline for this upcoming game.

Spider-Man PS4 Gets a Meatier Trailer

Insomniac Games, the developers behind other titles such as Ratchet and Clank and Spyro the Dragon, worked with Sony to present an action-packed game featuring one of the most iconic superheroes. This lengthy, latest gameplay trailer shows quite a lot of the action sequences for almost nine minutes.

Combat goes fluidly, with Spider-Man alternating between acrobatic movements and swinging around. He also makes full use of his webs to take out enemies in all kinds of ways, from directly immobilizing them to pulling objects to hit them. Ground combat, aerial movement, stealth, web and device usage all come together to create a dynamic kind of gameplay. The video also shows a number of quick time events in some of the more cinematic sequences.

Developers say that the game will have an open, sprawling city that players are free to explore as they want. They also assure the fans that this will be a completely unique universe, unrelated to the current film series. The Peter Parker in this game is a slightly older character, fresh out of college and just recently employed. The story will follow Peter trying to make his way through life even as he takes on local gangs and villains making trouble.
