Strategy

Use Lancet and Hi-Potions to heal

Since you will only by using Kimahri for the fight, you can only heal yourself by using Kimahri’s Lancet ability or any Hi-Potions you have. You can also put on any equipment that absorbs fire, lightning, ice, or water spells to let the bosses heal you when they cast any of their elemental spells.

Learning Overdrives from Biran and Yenke Ronso

Have Kimahri attack with his Aqua Breath Overdrive when the two bosses are together. When they are separate, use Fire Breath.

The battle is a good opportunity to learn Mighty Guard, Thrust Kick, Doom, and Self-Destruct Overdrives from Biran. Just remember not to kill Yenke before if you want to learn Mighty Guard, as doing so will cause Biran to cast Berserk on himself. This will prevent him from using Mighty Guard at all for the remainder of the fight. Note that you can learn Doom from him even if he does not cast it in the fight.

Yenke’s White Wind is also a very useful Overdrive to learn. Do not kill Biran if you wish to learn it as doing so will cause Yenke to cast Haste instead of White Wind.

Stealing Lv.3 Key Spheres

The fight is a good way to obtain Lv.3 Key Spheres if Kimahri has learned Steal.

  1. equip fire-eater and water eater to a new shield with 2 empty slots (plus the 10% hp) from one of the Ronso’s at the front of the base camp before going up the path.

Now you can prolong the ordeal and gather level 3 spheres which takes a long time.
