Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name (Ryu Ga Gotoku 7 Gaiden, Yakuza 7 Side Story) is a Like a Dragon (formerly Yakuza) spin-off game developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and released by SEGA.
Like a Dragon Gaiden was announced last September 4, 2023, and is set to release on November 9, 2023, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Microsoft Windows, Xbox PC Game Pass.
Game Story
Like a Dragon Gaiden follows the events that occur between Yakuza 6: The Song of Life and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. It stars Kazuma Kiryu as the main character, who has feigned death and went into hiding as a secret operative for the Daidoji group.
The game’s narrative revolves around Kiryu’s quest to identify an individual and discover why they are trying to expose him and drag him out of hiding. Along the way, he will run across both new and old enemies and allies, such as Akame, an informant who provides him with sub-missions, and Homare Nishitani III, the new leader of the Kijin Clan.
In addition, other notable characters like Masaharu Kaito of Judgment and Lost Judgment will appear are minor characters.
Gameplay Features
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name features elements from past Like a Dragon (Yakuza) mainline and spinoff games while also introducing new and distinctive gameplay systems.

The game has an open world with three locations: Sotenbori in Osaka, Isezaki Ijincho in Yokohama, and the Castle, a central place where Kiryu may engage in various activities.
An update of the beat ‘em up combat system shaped by the fighting styles mechanic of the Judgment series.

The original beat ‘em up combat system from earlier Like a Dragon (Yakuza) games is retained, with various upgrades and additions. Kiryu has the ability to switch between two fighting styles: Yakuza and Agent. The Yakuza style is built around Kiryu’s hallmark brawler skills, whilst the Agent style is built around high-tech devices and sneaky assaults.
Several new and recurring mini games are included.

The game also includes karaoke, Pocket Circuit racing, a cabaret club, a combat arena, casino, darts, boutique.
Playable classic video games from the Sega Master System.
Kiryu can also play numerous Master System games, including Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Alien Syndrome, Enduro Racer, Fantasy Zone II: The Tears of Opa-Opa, Galaxy Force, Global Defense, Maze Hunter 3-D, Quartet, and Secret Command.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth demo version unlocks after clearing.
After clearing the main story of Like a Dragon: Gaiden, you will be able to unlock a trial version of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s next upcoming Like a Dragon title called Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
Similar to other Yakuza demo versions, you will also carry over your save data progress to the next game.
