What Are Orbs?
A Total of Six Types
There are six types of orbs that appear in Dragon Quest III: the Red Orb, Blue Orb, Yellow Orb, Green Orb, Purple Orb, and Silver Orb.
Needed to Revive the Phoenix Ramia
The orbs are required to revive the phoenix Ramia. After the middle part of Dragon Quest III, collecting all the orbs becomes a primary goal in your journey.
Locations and How to Obtain the Orbs
Red Orb
The red orb can be obtained at the end of the hidden staircase in the Pirate’s Hideout. The Pirate’s Hideout can be located by taking a ship to the east from Arihan Continent.
Green Orb
The green orb can be found inside the prison at Tedon. Tedon can be reached by traveling south by ship from Portoga, then following a narrow river deep into the area.
Blue Orb
The blue orb can be obtained from a treasure chest at the deepest part of the “Navel of the Earth.” Enter the temple at the north side of Lancel to reach the “Navel of the Earth.”
Purple Orb
The purple orb can be obtained by defeating Orochi twice in Zipangu. First, defeat Orochi in the cave next to Zipangu, then fight Orochi again in Zipangu.
Silver Orb
The silver orb can be obtained from an old man at the Necrogond Shrine. Progress through the main story and get the “Ultimate Key” and “Gaia’s Sword.” Afterwards, you will eventually reach the Necrogond Cave.
Yellow Orb
Check behind the throne in the Merchant Town to get the yellow orb. Progress to the events in Merchant Town to find the orb. One of the conditions for the town’s development is to have obtained at least three orbs, including the purple orb, so be sure to collect the others first.
How to Use the Orbs
Offer them in Leiamland
Once you have gathered all the orbs, head to Leiamland, located in the southwest of the world map. There is an altar in the shrine where the orbs can be offered. You can reach it by sailing southwest from Lancel or north from Noaniel by ship.
