Beginner’s Guide: Things to Do First in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake (DQ3 Remake)
Below are some tips to help beginners and new players starting their journey for the first time in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake (DQ3 Remake).
Reallocate stats (Seeds) at Patty’s Party Planning Place.
You can respec character stats near the start of the game by going to the 2nd floor of Patty’s Party Planning Place. This feature is incredibly useful for building each of your party members so that no stat points are wasted throughout the game.

Check all pots and sparkly spots while exploring.
Pots, jars, barrels, and shiny spots found all around the game world can be interacted with to obtain money or useful equipment (including Seeds). Be sure to take the time to scour each new area you visit to avoid missing out on these collectibles.
Get the Thorn Whip in Aliahan.
The Thorn Whip, a powerful early-game weapon, can be obtained by exchanging two Mini Medals to the medal man in Aliahan. This armament is capable of attacking multiple enemies and boasts higher damage than most weapons you can pick up near the start of the game so do not forget to acquire it as soon as possible.

Grab the Boomerang in Dreamer’s Tower.
You can get the Boomerang, another weapon with multi-target capabilities, on the 3rd floor of the Dreamer’s Tower. This area is also visited quite early during the main story.
From the northeast side of the 2nd floor, go up the stairs to reach the 3rd floor to find the weapon.
Note that the remake’s version of the Boomerang is even more powerful than its counterpart in the original version, making it a solid piece of equipment to use as soon as you grab it in Dreamer’s Tower.

Try to equip the best armor available to you at each stage of your adventure.
When you are not sure what to buy at shops, it is highly recommended to spend your gold on better armor. This is because stronger enemies who can act twice will start to appear as you reach Romaria so minimizing incoming damage should help you keep up.
