Robbin’ ‘Ood (1st Battle) Moveset and Attack Patterns
Robbin’ ‘Ood primarily uses two types of attacks: Normal Attack and Critical Strike. Note that even with some HP remaining, a single hit from Robbin’ ‘Ood’s critical strike can significantly reduce a character’s health.
Moveset | |
---|---|
Normal Attack | A standard single-target physical attack. |
Critical Strike | Ignores defense and deals approximately 70 damage. |
How to Beat Robbin’ ‘Ood (1st Battle)
Eliminate the Robbin’ ‘Oodlums first.
During the boss battle, Robbin’ ‘Ood is accompanied by three Robbin’ ‘Oodlums, making a total of four enemies. It’s strategic to target the Robbin’ ‘Oodlums first since they have less HP. Eliminating them reduces the enemy count, giving you a numerical advantage in the fight.
Use Kabuff to increase the party’s Defense.
The first boss, Robbin’ ‘Ood, does not use any powerful spells, and he relies solely on physical attacks. Therefore, using Kabuff to boost your party’s defense is very effective. You should level up your spellcasters to level 14 in order to unlock the Kabuff spell.
Use Sap to increase your damage against the boss.
Robbin’ ‘Ood is vulnerable to the Sap spell, which reduces his defense. Utilizing this spell will enable your party to inflict more damage, so it’s crucial to apply it consistently during the battle to maximize damage output.
Keep your party’s HP healthy.
Although using Kabuff will help mitigate damage, Robbin’ ‘Ood’s critical strikes will still ignore defense. A critical hit can deal around 70 damage, so watch out for this attack and keep your party members’ HP healthy.
Recommended Party Setup
A classic party setup of Hero, Warrior, Priest, and Mage is advisable for this boss battle. Here’s how each class should play their role:
Character | Role |
---|---|
Hero | Primary physical attacker. If healing is needed beyond the priest’s capacity, use Heal to help out. |
Warrior | Main damage dealer. Due to their low agility, they may struggle to use items like Medicinal Herb, so focus on dealing damage instead. |
Priest | Use Sap if available, then focus on healing to keep the party stable. Attacking is an option if the party is healthy and the Sap is still applied. |
Mage | The key to lowering difficulty of the boss battle is the Kabuff spell. Use it frequently to raise party defense. Once stabilized, switch to offensive spells to contribute to damage. |
