Patch 7.19 is the first patch that was released as Worlds 2017 is happening. This means that we won’t see this patch during Worlds. With this in mind, Riot has revamped and added some notable changes to champions and items that are otherwise unfair if it were to be played in the tournament. Here are the the most important changes in patch 7.19:
Xin Zhao Gets a Massive Gameplay Rework
The Seneschal of Demacia is getting a huge rework in patch 7.19, with his ultimate being the most notable change in his kit. According to Riot, they wanted to give Xin Zhao a unique duelist feel that also separates him from the likes of Fiora. They also said that they opted to give highlight to his former profession as a gladiator, hence his ultimate.
You can check out more of his updated abilities and strategy in our official guide.
Azir Also Received a Minor Rework
Azir mains will be at odds with Azir’s new update, especially the change on his ultimate. He will be much stronger and faster in this update, but more of his skills now require greater positioning and constantly using his Sand Soldiers to deal even more damage.
It will be very exciting to see how Azir will fare in the current meta. Many are very happy with his stats increase, but others weren’t because of the removal of the knockup of Emperor’s Divide. Ultimately, The Emperor of the Sands is sure to be played more in the coming days in Solo Queue.
Janna and Ardent Censer also got hit in patch 7.19
Janna’s bread and butter skill Eye of the Storm just got nerfed. It’s cooldown will now be 18/16/14/12/10 seconds instead of just 10 in all ranks. Her other skills, however, got tweaked to make up for the nerf on her Eye of the Storm. Her passive will also have a new component called peck.

Ardent Censer’s on-hit health draining is removed in patch 7.19, but healing or shielding allies will now buff you as well instead of just buffing your team mates. The past nerfs in 7.17 will also be reverted, meaning that the attack speed and on-hit damage will be stronger.
Arclight Yorick, the first ever skin of Yorick’s post-rework, is also released.
You heard it right, Yorick is getting a new skin after six years. The skin is very different from his past skins, as Arclight Yorick makes him look more as a guardian rather than an undead ghoul that revives dead minions.
Some people love the skin, saying that it’s a breath of fresh air compared to his dark, uncanny skins before. On the flip side, some are very disappointed that this skin does not fit well in his lore. For us, it’s a pretty good skin and pretty much an insta-buy because of the beauty of the skin.
The skin is priced at 1350RP.
