Middle-earth: Shadow of War Wiki (SoW Walkthrough and Strategy Guide)
This is a Middle-earth: Shadow of War (SoW) Wiki and Strategy Guide page containing walkthroughs, strategy guides, and tips and tricks for the new open world action-adventure game developed by Monolith Productions and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It will be released on August 22, 2017.
Middle-earth: SoW is an open world action-adventure game which is a sequel to the 2014 Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor (SoM) released in 2014 for Microsoft Windows, Playstation 4, Xbox One. The follow-up continues the events of the first game set in J.R.R Tolkien’s legendarium of Middle-earth with the timeline somewhere between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
Players take control of the ranger Talion who returns from the first game as he continues on his quest to amass an army against the Dark Lord Sauron. He is aided by Celebrimbor, an elf lord whose spirit co-inhabits his body, thus granting him unique skills and abilities in battle. Talion also possesses a Ring of Power as he journeys across the vastness of Middle-earth to combat the Dark Lord’s forces, including the Nazgul. While Talion is less interested in becoming a king with the help of the Ring of Power, he is compelled by the Celebrimbor’s cause to oppose Sauron as the fate of Middle-earth hangs in the balance.
While SoM veered more into a hack-and-slash style of gameplay, SoW will give more weight into action-role-playing elements by expanding upon the original game’s unique Nemesis system to a larger part of the game world. This will include friendly characters called Followers whose behavior depend on the player’s interactions with them throughout the course of the main story. This is intended to give the game a more personalized and fresh experience based on certain actions and decisions Talion makes in the game.
