[Middle-Earth: Shadow of War/ ME: SoW] Strengths Nemesis Traits Guide

This article contains information about strengths for the nemeses in Middle Earth: Shadow of War [ME: SoW]. We’ll update this more as soon as the game comes out.

Strengths

In Middle Earth: Shadow of War, strengths and weaknesses provide a variety of traits towards an enemy. For example, strengths provide traits, bonuses, immunizations, and also an enemy’s capacity for enrage. On the other hand, weaknesses allow the player to deal increased damage against the enemy. This allows them to finish them off quickly, saving their health to fight the next nemesis they come across. Knowing an enemy’s strength and weaknesses can slide the difficulty of the game down.

Strengths

Strengths separate into three different categories: hates, immunities, and bonuses. The hates, if the player uses a skill that triggers a particular hate, will cause the enemy to become Enraged. When Enraged is inflicted on the enemy, they deal an increased amount of damage. The status “Enraged” grants the enemy increased damage output and attack speed. Immunities are what enemies do not take damage from. Bonuses appear as several other traits such as class traits, tribe bonuses, racial bonuses, and epic traits.

List of Strengths

Strength Description
Flame Cannon Unit is capable of using cannons to release liquid fire blasts.
Armored Mount The unit has a fortified mount and resists fire damage.
Battering Ram Enemy deals increased damage to siege structures and weapons.
Cursed Weapon If the player is attacked then, the unit can disable the Ring of Power while inflicting Curse damage.
Necromancer Enemy can raise the dead to fight against the player. If dealing with this kind of enemy then, defeat the necromancer immediately to lessen the numbers.
Beast Master Unit summons beasts to fight enemies. Deal with the Beast Master the same way one deals with a necromancer.
Sniper Unit becomes capable in dealing powerful, long ranged attacks. Keep guard up at all costs.

Immunities

Immunites are what nullify certain incoming attacks. While this attack does not neccessarily cause Enraged on the enemy, it does lower the player’s damage output. Hence, players should bring another weapon to swap out in case of elemental immunity.

List of Immunities

Immunities Description
Fire Enemy is incapable of taking Fire damage.
Frost While the enemy can take Ice damage, the enemy cannot be frozen.
Poison Immune to poison damage. Poison-based weapons will have no effect and cannot inflict Poison on the enemy.
Ranged Attacks Immune to incoming ranged attacks. Players must confront enemies with this trait in closed ranged combat.
Curse Attacks Curse Damage is reduced to 0.
Beast Attacks/ Beast Proof Beast Attacks do not deal damage.
Stealth Attacks The enemy nullifies the Backstab Bonus and can detect the player even with stealth.
Execution Enemies with this trait do not instantly die but instead suffer severe damage.

Hates

Unlike Immunities, Hates, as one of the strengths, has a trigger. Hates is what triggers the status “Enraged” in enemies. When enemies take damage with a Hated Attribute, they immediately trigger “Enraged”. The “Enraged” status then grants increased damage output.

List of Hates

Hates Description
Frost Upon taking the “Frost” condition, the enemy becomes Enraged.
Mortal Wounds Enemy becomes enraged when suffering from Mortal Wounds.
Vengeful Enemy becomes “Enraged” when witnessing the death of an Allied Damage.
Last Stand  When facing the Bright Lord alone, the enemy becomes “Enraged”.
Bestial Frenzy After killing a beast enemy, enemy becomes Enraged.
