Release Date Moved to October [Middle-earth: Shadow of War / SoW]

Middle-earth: Shadow of War, the highly-anticipated sequel to the unique action role-playing game Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, will now be coming out on October 10, 2017 according to developer Monolith Productions.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment initially planned the launch of Shadow of War on August 22, which marks a seven-week delay as confirmed by the this recent news. An official statement made on the game’s delayed release is quoted below.

“Monolith is committed to delivering the highest quality experience. In order to do this, we have made the difficult decision to move our launch date to ensure that Middle-earth: Shadow of War will deliver on that promise.

We understand that it might be disappointing to have to wait a little longer for the release and are sorry for the delay, but we are working hard to make an amazing game. We’re excited to show more at E3.” – The Middle-earth: Shadow of War Team

While it isn’t a surprise for massive titles to retract any planned dates that game are expected to be released (as was the case for Final Fantasy 15, which was delayed for nearly a decade since it’s incarnation on the Playstation 3 as Versus 13), Shadow of War will make an appearance at this year’s E3 2017 (Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017) event.
