Evolve or Power Up First? The Most Efficient Order

You can evolve a Pokemon as long as you have candy. So, is it better to evolve after the Pokemon reaches it’s max CP, or evolve then power up?

Power Up/ Evolve: The Correct Order

Evolving a Pokemon will greatly change it’s stats. You don’t have to power up your Pokemon to it’s maximum CP to evolve it, but it’s not clear whether we should power up then evolve, or evolve then power up for the Pokemon to reach it’s maximum strength. If you evolve then power up, you will not have to take the risk of having a Pokemon with a bad move, therefore you won’t waste any StarDust and Candy. But some people say if you don’t power up your Pokemon to it’s maximum CP, you won’t be able to bring out it’s maximum ability. It’s not clear which order you should take at present since there’s too many information.

◆Summary
Just when the game was released, it was said that the size of the Pokemon directly relates to it’s strength, and it would be best to look for a double XL Pokemon. It was also said that if you don’t fully power up your Pokemon when evolving, it’s size will become XS. But at present, the general idea is that powering up your Pokemon before evolving doesn’t have any affect. Now, we know that the Pokemons strength is dependent on it’s individual value, and it’s individual value won’t change after evolving. As for a conclusion, the most efficient way to grow your Pokemon would be to know your Pokemons individual value, evolve a Pokemon with a good individual value, and if it learns a good move, then power up the Pokemon.
