Distance Required to Hatch an Egg

By placing your egg in a incubator and traveling the distance required, a Pokemon will hatch from the egg. The distance required for the egg to hatch will be 2km, 5km, or 10km. From the image below, you can tell the Pokemon that will hatch from the 3 different eggs.

Since you have to be moving below 10km/h, the distance you travel with a bike, car, train, or anything faster than 10km/h would be pointless. The average speed when walking is said to be around 5km/h. Therefore, it would take an hour to hatch a 5km egg and 2 hours to hatch a 10km egg. It may be difficult to hatch numerous eggs in a day unless you have a job where you walk all the time. Also, the average speed of a bicycle is around 15-20km/h and the average speed while jogging is around 8km/h. So you could consider jogging if you really want to hatch some eggs.

The image above is a chart made by one of the users listing each Pokemon by its rarity. Although there are some exceptions, the longer it takes for the egg to hatch, the chance of you getting a rare Pokemon will increase. It may be tough to walk such a distance just to hatch an egg, but it will be worth the the effort.
