How to Heal a Pokemon
If a Pokemon receive damage during a gym fight, it will lose its HP. If a Pokemons HP reaches 0, it will be fainted and will no longer be able to fight. A Pokemon will not recover by itself, and there aren’t any places where you can heal your Pokemons like a Pokemon Center. The only way to heal a Pokemon in Pokemon GO is by using recovery items.
To use a recovery item, open main menu and tap the item icon on the bottom right-hand.
All the items you have will be shown. If you have a fainted Pokemon, use a revive on it.
Only the fainted Pokemons will be shown. A revive will heal half of its HP.
Now use a potion to fully heal your Pokemon. If your trainer level is low you will only be able to find Potions but as it gets higher, you will be able to obtain better potions such as a Super Potion and Hyper Potion. Now you can challenge a gym once again. Potions and Revives can be obtained from PokeStops so be sure to resupply them.
