This article contains the different League of Legends LPL teams competing in this years Worlds 2017, including the biography of each players.

2017 LoL World Championship – Team and Player Profiles: LPL

The Chinese teams competing in the LPL have had a considerable foothold for most of the international tournaments, which includes a strong showing during the previous MSIs. But one thing eludes their teams – they have not won any World championships yet. Now, the competing teams are stronger than ever, and might even wiggle their way towards winning it all in the Worlds Championship. Let us look at the different Chinese teams competing in this year’s Worlds 2017!

 EDward Gaming

Edward Gaming LPL

Edward Gaming is a fan-favorite in China, having one of the biggest following in the region. EDG currently has the most number of of LPL championships with five LPL championships. They were also a force to reckon with in the Demacia Cup with five consecutive Demacia Cups champions.

EDward Gaming dates back to 2013. Clearlove is the only remaining member of the team since the formation. EDG was always stuck in 5-8th place every Worlds they have attended. Now, they must face the daunting task of bringing home the Summoner’s Cup in their own homeland.

EDward Gaming LPL Starting Team

Clearlove7 might be the most famous player in this team, as he is the the only remaining member when the team was formed last 2013. Hailing as a jungle icon in the local chinese and international scene, Clearlove7 hopes to once more get a chance at improving his game and finally winning it all this year.

Their top laner is Mouse. He was a former support player that transitioned perfectly to the top lane at the start of the 2016 summer split. He was a a valuable asset to the team, contributing to the intensity in the  top lane while merging his supporting experience to give his team mates the much needed advantage.

2017 Summer Split MVP Scout is their mid laner. Once a substitute player and a replacement to the likes of Faker when he was still in SKT, Scout proved to everyone that he can play in a competitive level. He earned a starting role at EDG and never looked back, as he was a consistent player that improved every day.

iBoy is also a fairly new player that will enter the Worlds for the first time. Known for his hyper carry AD picks that garner huge amounts of success, iBoy might be a force to reckon with in the group stages. He was discovered in the LPL trainee program where Edward Gaming saw his potential and immediately picked him up.

Last but not the least, Meiko is the front guy for EDG. He contributed a lot in one year, winning the Demacian Cup, 2015 Spring Champion, and the 2015 Mid-Season Invitational. Meiko is notoriously known for his insane support plays, racking up skillshots and follow ups with champions such as Thresh and Braum.

Royal Never Give Up

On the other side of the group, Royal Never Give Up is another dominant group in the regular season. They are considered to be the rival of the top team EDG. This will be their only second appearance in the main stage, but most of their players already have a lot of experience in Worlds.

Royal Give Up is a fairly new team that originated from Vici Potential Gaming. They had a rough season before acquiring key players that would eventually help them succeed in LPL.

Royal Never Give Up LPL Starting Team

Uzi is considered to be one of the more famous ADCs not only in China, but also in the whole world. Uzi is known for his consistency and carrying potential, often taking advantage of mismatches and turning the tides of battle in their favor. He was present in both Worlds 2013 and 2014, but was unsuccessful in snagging the Summoner’s Cup.

Mlxg might be one of the fastest players in the competitive scene that quickly rose to become one of the most prolific junglers in China. He spearheaded RNG after he transferred there from KING, giving them the 2016 Spring and Summer Split.  They also won Rift Rivals and finished second in 2017 Spring Split.

Ming plays support for RNG. He is known for his vast champion pool and versatile support plays. He is also a very aggressive support that fits with the playstyle of Uzi, earning him praises and from other players and fans.

Coming in at their mid lane is Xiaohu. He is a very strong and fearless mid laner even before he was not yet known in the competitive scene. Xiaohu is known for his diverse and hard to play champions such as Azir, Syndra, and Leblanc.

Lastly, their top laner is Letme. Letme went to RNG along with Xiaohu after the conclusion of the 2015 spring split when they were still Gametee. Unfortunately, he was let go for a while after Looper joined RNG. When Looper left, Letme was reacquired in the top lane again, this time he was much better and stronger than ever before.

Team WE

Team WE is considered to be one of the oldest League of Legends, but this is going to be their first time qualifying for Worlds. It was a tough road for them but they managed to pull it off after winning the LPL 2017 spring split. They solidified their spot with a win in the regional qualifiers.

Team WE is very first eSports club in China, they started their League of Legends team last 2011. They were not known in the international scene until they were able to make it to this year’s Worlds.

Team WE LPL Starting Team

Xiye is probably better known as the player who solo killed Faker in mid lane on Lucian. He is a very unique player, often picking unconventional champions and items that are very effective in team fights.

The jungler and team captain of Team WE is Condi. Condi is known for his ability to steal buffs and important objectives such as Baron and Dragon. He was a player on Master3 before joining Team We on 2015.

Their top laner is 957. He first started off on WE Future, the sister team of Team WE. Despite the team having a mediocre performance, 957 was able to impress a lot, earning him a slot on Team WE. He was also one of the main driving force when they defeated Royal Never Give Up in the 2017 Spring playoffs.

Mystic is their ADC. He was formerly in Jin Air before transferring to Team WE’s organization. He is known for his Ashe and Jhin plays which he learned to master in his stay with Team WE.

Zero is their support and the only player in Team WE with a Worlds experience. He is known for his skill and precision when playing Braum and Thresh. He was in a lot of teams before joining WE such as KT Rolster and Star Horn Royal Club.
