Japan is the latest country to have a localized League of Legends server. hence, it is also the emergence of many pro teams in the region. LoL Japan League (LJL) is also a fairly new tournament that also started only last 2014. Everything is just starting out for this server, so one question remains – Will they be able to keep up with the competitive nature of other regions?
Let us look at the first and the only Japanese team who will be competing in this year’s Worlds 2017. We will also see whether they stand a chance against the other regions.
Rampage
Rampage is one of the first timers for this year’s Worlds with their win in the Summer split. It’s not just an achievement to the team, but also for LJL as well because this will be the first time that Japan will be represented in Worlds. They might have a difficult time winning it all this year, but hopefully this learning experience can help them and the region for the next Worlds to come. Nevertheless, it is interesting how far LJL’s representative will go this year.
Rampage LJL Starting Team
Evi is one of the more known top laners in Japan. He is a very versatile player that has a wide range of champion pool in his arsenal. He played tanky champions from Tahm Kench and Shen to heavy bruisers such as Irelia and Poppy. His skill set and champion diversity will be put to the test in Worlds.
Tussle is one of the key assets of Rampage coming into Worlds. He led the team to win their LJL Summer Split, booking them for Worlds. He is also a very versatile player who can dictate the flow of the game with his ganks and counter jungles. If Rampage was to reach the inner echelons of Worlds, it would likely be because of him.
Many believe that Ramune, Rampage’s mid laner, is the weakest link in the team. Little did everyone know that he has already accumulated enough knowledge from playing three international events alone in 2017 to help him elevate his game. His plays also contributed to Rampage’s LJL Summer and Spring Split win.
YutoriMoyasi is the cream of the crop for Rampage. He is one of the best ADC in Japan with his very aggressive plays. He is also able to create situations where the enemies are forced to make questionable decisions. His champion pool consists of Kog’Maw and Varus which are hyper carries.
What makes YutoriMoyasi an excellent ADC can sometimes be because of Dara, the support of Rampage. Like many players of Rampage, he also has a wide champion pool that can complement the composition of his team in all situations. His map control and awareness also makes him a great support at protecting objectives.
