Bayeks Wife: Playable in Assassin’s Creed Origins?

Ubisoft recently revealed that Bayeks wife, Aya, will become a playable character. Considering their attempt of having two assassins from Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, Aya’s the second female assassin that players will have a chance to use.

Will Bayeks Wife be playable all throughout the game?

However, she will only appear in selected missions. According to Game Director Ashraf Ismail, Aya is one of the many characters that players will have a chance to play in Assassin’s Creed Origins. They also mentioned that the gameplay for Assassin’s Creed Origins will not follow the pattern that of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. While in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate had two characters to equally tell the story, Assassin’s Creed Origins has Bayeks wife playing as part of Bayek’s campaign.

As of now, the only thing we know is that Aya became an agent for Queen Cleopatra. She worked together also with Bayek to restore balance to Egypt. One of the main antagonists, Ptolemy XIII, found himself at the mercy of The Order of the Ancients. Unfortunately, the creative director did not mention anything about her playstyle. He also did not mention if Aya will reflect similar skill sets to Bayek of Siwa. Instead, he added that if he made Aya as good as Bayek – the game may lose its appeal.

However, the game also introduces RNG and loot-heavy elements in comparison to the old Assassin’s Creed games. Because of this, only certain characters can find certain loot making the gameplay quite gated in terms of items. But somehow, it makes some sense considering that certain items may only work for certain characters. For example, Bayeks wife, Aya, may find a weapon only applicable to her.

As for the release date of Assassin’s Creed Origins, the game will be released on October 27, 2017 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
