Game Overview

The FIFA series (also known as FIFA Football or FIFA Soccer) is the world’s highest selling football video game franchise, selling more than 100 million copies worldwide and localised into 18 languages in 51 countries. Beginning in 1993, the series is renowned for being officially licensed by FIFA – the international governing body of football.

The games have gone on to feature many exclusively-licensed leagues from around the world. These include the German Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga, English Premier League and Football League, Italian Serie A and Serie B, Spanish La Liga and Segunda División, Portuguese Primeira Liga, French Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, Dutch Eredivisie, Brazilian Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, Mexican Liga MX, American Major League Soccer, South Korean K-League, Saudi Professional League, Australian A-League, Turkish Süper Lig, Chilean Primera División and Argentine Primera División. The series also allows players to play as various clubs, as well as real-life athletes with their likenesses in current appearances.

FIFA 18 is the latest installment to the acclaimed football simulation video game, and the second in the series to use the Frostbite 3 game engine. It has also been confirmed that the Playstation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game will continue the events of the story-based mode “The Journey” (originally entitled for FIFA 17 as “The Journey: Hunter Returns”). FIFA 18: Legacy Edition, which is the official game title for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, will only provide updates for kits and rosters but not actual new content and features.

The game will allow players to play in 52 fully licensed stadiums from 12 countries, as well as 30 generic fields for up to a total of 82 match stages. The lineup of in-game commentators include Martin Tyler, Alan Smith, Alan McInally, Geoff Shreeves, Clive Tyldesley and Andy Townsend.

It has also been announced that the new version of the previously titled Legends will be offered for the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions of FIFA 18, to be called FIFA 18 Ultimate Team Icons.
