- When opponent tries to close in on you, you can root them in place with (W) Ring of Frost, then follow up by punishing them with (Q) Ice Shard or escape with (E) Glacial Path to safety.
- You can also initiate a team fight with (E) Glacial Path to close into the enemy carries and hit them with (R) Frozen Tomb to isolate them, then follow up with (W) Ring of Frost and (Q) Ice Shard to deal massive damage.
- Defensively, you can cast (R) Frozen Tomb on yourself to avoid being damaged by opponents for a short duration, then escape with (E) Glacial Path.

Zhonya’s Hourglass | Rod of Ages | Hextech Protobelt-01 |
Zhonya’s Hourglass – Zhonya’s Hourglass works extremely well with Lissandra’s kit. Since she excels in bringing the fight to the enemy team and locking down targets with (R) Frozen Tomb, this often leaves her susceptible to being focused down. This item gives her added protection whenever she casts (R) Frozen Tomb on enemies, not to mention it gives her decent bonus Ability Power and armor stats.
Rod of Ages – Lissandra is a squishy champion that can get bursted down if she’s not careful. Getting Rod of Ages on her allows her to get a bit tanky while giving her skills added potency. This item gives her bonus health, mana and Ability Power up to a certain stack.
Hextech Protobelt-01 – her initiates allow her to get into the fight quickly and shut down priority targets. With Hextech Protobelt-01, she is able to have another engage skill apart from (E) Glacial Path. This item gives her an active skill that moves her forward to deal damage on opponents in her way, as well as it gives her good overall Ability Power, Health and cooldown reduction stats.

Mejai’s Soulstealer |
Banshee’s Veil – Another defensive item for mages, Banshee’s Veil gives her a spell shield that protects her from being disabled from one crowd control skill. Aside from that, it also provides her good Ability Power, cooldown reduction and magic resistance stats.
Ionian Boots of Lucidity – This boots upgrade gives her more chances to spam her skills. It gives good movement speed and cooldown reduction bonuses.
Mercury’s Treads – Subsequently, for enemies who have hard crowd control or deal magic damage, Mercury’s Treads is a good boots upgrade. It lessens the duration of disables Lissandra incurs during clashes.
Mejai’s Soulstealer – For the more aggressive players, Mejai’s Soulstealer increases Lissandra’s Ability Power for every kill and assist she acquires in-game. In turn, her skills gain more damage and she can snowball the competition. However, if she gets killed, she loses her stacks.
Playing Against
- During the laning phase, keep distance when you’re behind your minion wave, as Lissandra can still hit you with (Q) Ice Shard.
- Be careful when you charge at Lissandra – she can stop your advance with (W) Ring of Frost and punish you with (Q) Ice Shard for decent damage.
- (W) Ring of Frost has a long cooldown. You can trade with Lissandra after she has used this skill during skirmishes and clashes.
- Lissandra is especially vulnerable after she uses her (E) Glacial Path, since its her only escaping skill. Punish her when you see her use this skill.
- You can intercept her escape by checking which direction Lissandra will cast (E) Glacial Path – she can teleport to where the claw ends.
- Lissandra is especially susceptible to poke damage and being a target to focus fire.
- If she casts (R) Frozen Tomb on herself, wait for a couple of seconds to then follow up on damaging and possibly eliminating her. Remember that whenever she’s entombed, she is immune to damage, and the surrounding area is slowed.
Hard Counter
- Kassadin – Kassadin specializes in taking down mages. His kit allows him to get close, eliminate her, and get out of dodge quickly.
- Syndra – Syndra is effective when it comes to hitting enemies from a safe distance. She trades with Lissandra well during the laning phase, and when she initiates, she can stun her and finisher her off with Unleashed Power.
- Diana – Diana is proficient in getting close to enemies and dealing massive damage. She is able to get close to Lissandra once she hits her with Crescent Strike, where she can follow up with Lunar Rush.
- Brand – Brand excels in lane pressure with Pillar of Flame, Sear and Conflagration. He can also whittle down Lissandra with Pillar of Flame during the laning phase; if she’s down to low health, he can combo Conflagration with Sear to stun her and finish her off with Pillar of Flame + Pyroclasm.
