1907 Fenerbahçe Espor Represents TCL in 2017 Worlds

Fresh from claiming victory against BAU SuperMassive in the recent TCL Summer Playoffs, 1907 Fenerbahçe Espor enters this year’s Worlds as the first League of Legends team that is sponsored by a professional sports club, Fenerbahçe SK.

After a relatively slow start at the beginning of this season, 1907 Fenerbahçe Espor climbed back up the TCL ranks. Their strong showing in the Rift Rivals against LCL and their win in the TCL Summer Playoffs culminated in a Play-In spot in this year’s Worlds.

Let’s take a quick look at their starting lineup who will compete at the Play-In Stage:

Thaldrin plays Top Lane for 1907 Fenerbahçe Espor. Considered to be one of the most influential TCL captains, he showed his cunning and craftiness back in the 2013 MSI with a win against Counter Logic Gaming following a back door strategy. Now making his Worlds debut, he intends to make the same plays on their way to the Group Stage.

Move is 1907 Fenerbahçe Espor’s resident Jungler. He has played in various regions, namely NA LCS (Gravity) and EU LCS (Unicorns of Love). Initially struggling to fit into TCL’s meta, he shown some synergy with Frozen which was instrumental to their winning ways after he joined 1907 Fenerbahçe Espor. Their cohesion and his decision-making skills will be put to the test during their matches in the Play-Ins.

Formerly a member of Longzhu, Frozen found his niche playing for 1907 Fenerbahçe Espor as their ace Mid Laner. He boasts a diverse champion pool which earned him three awards for the 2017 TCL Summer Split: Best Mid Laner, MVP of the Regular Season, and MVP of the Finals. Frozen now focuses his attention on toppling the opposition with his team play alongside his teammates.

Padden holds the ADC duties for 1907 Fenerbahçe Espor. He earned Most Improved Player during this year’s TCL Season where he displayed his flexibility when it comes to choosing which ADC his team needs. His versatility and knack of adapting to his team’s composition is crucial to their success in the Play-In Stage.

Japone rounds up 1907 Fenerbahçe Espor’s starting lineup. He plays Support for Padden, and just like his ADC, he has a lot to prove this coming Worlds. The once-monikered Karma One-Trick Pony now boasts a deep champion pool. This includes Thresh and Zyra, two playmaking champions he used during the TCL Splits.

Last but not the least, WaenA provides support as Frozen’s alternate at the Mid Lane. Although a rookie, he flashed some of his upside during the Turkish Challenger Series.  Granted, he did not see any play time during the Splits, but given the chance, he’ll show what he has learned under Frozen’s tutelage.
