Strategy
- Ahri’s (E) Charm sets up skill combos. (E) Charm can also be used to initiate clashes. This will also force your enemy champion to take your (W) Fox-Fire and (Q) Orb of Deception‘s full damage
- Harass your enemy champions with her (Q) Orb of Deception as it does massive damage, both for your enemy and the minion wave. (Q) Orb of Deception is her main damaging skill. However, this skill has high mana cost so don’t spam this skill during early game.
- Use her (W) Fox-Fire while chasing down enemies in conjunction with her (R) Spirit Rush.
- She can heal herself with her Essence Theft (passive) and her (Q) Orb of Deception. During the late game, a minion wave can fully heal her.
- Once you’re more comfortable with Ahri, try to use Flash with Ahri’s (E) Charm to hit an enemy champion.
- Ahri’s Ultimate Skill, (R) Spirit Rush, can be used to flee from enemies or dodge skill shots while also dealing damage to them.

Rod of Ages | Luden’s Echo | Sorcerer’s Shoes |
Rod of Ages – Rod of Ages is a good starter item for Ahri since it gives him health, mana, and ability power. Build this item first to get the benefits early since it needs time to be fully effective.
Luden’s Echo – Luden’s Echo gives a decent amount of ability power and movement speed. This item is a great addition to Ahri since it gives decent mobility stats and the passive can cause your abilities to hit multiple enemies.
Sorcerer’s Shoes – This boots is the best option for Ahri since it gives off magic penetration, something that Ahri needs.

Rabadon’s Deathcap | Rod of Ages | Void Staff |
Morellonomicon – Morellonomicon gives cooldown reduction, AP, and mana. This item makes Ahri a threat offensively because of the Grievous Wounds passive that can give Ahri and an offensive edge in fights.
Rabadon’s Deathcap – Rabadon’s Deathcap is a very strong item for any AP champions since it grants a huge AP and even increases AP by 35%. Get this item after you have completed your core items.
Void Staff – Void staff further amplifies the damage of Ahri, giving him magic penetration against enemies who build magic resistance items.
Situational Items

Banshee’s Veil | Zhonya’s Hourglass |
Banshee’s Veil – This item is a must if you are facing an enemy composition with a lot of ability power. The spell shield is also useful if you are facing a burst damage AP or an initiator since you can block the spell and give you enough time to escape.
Zhonya’s Hourglass – Zhonya’s Hourglass is a great defensive item for her especially when the enemies have a lot of crowd control. This item can save you from many close calls, so build this if you think that it is better than some of the core items presented above.
Playing Against
- Avoid Ahri’s (E) Charm as much as possible. Without it, it’d be hard to land her (Q) Orb of Deception which consists most of her damage
- (Q) Orb of Deception can be dodged by moving on the side when she casts it.
- Take note of Ahri’s (R) Spirit of Rush charges. This is her only Escape option.
- Stay near minion all the time and use them to shield you from her (E) Charm, (W) Fox-Fire, and (R) Spirit Rush
Hard Counters
- LeBlanc – A good Leblanc can easily avoid the skillshots of Ahri with Mimic and Distortion. She can also burst her down the moment she hits Ethereal Chains and it stuns her.
- Swain – Ahri doesn’t have enough damage to all in a Swain because of Ravenous Flock. The moment Ahri is caught with Nevermove, she will get bursted down and eventually lose the trade.
- Malzahar – Ahri’s mobility with Spirit Rush is no match for Malzahar since he can just activate Nether Grasp to take hold of her and deal damage to her. Void Shift also acts like a spell shield, stopping her from initiating (E) Charm.
