While the mode itself is exciting to play, it can be sometimes hard to finish without getting irritated due to its difficulty.

Play With Your Friends
One way of completing an invasion game mode is to play with your friends. Aside from having an easier time communicating with your team mates, some missions require you to have a pre-made team of five Star Guardians. Planning out which Star Guardians you’ll choose for your game is essential because while they pack quite a punch, most of them are rather squishy. Hence the need for proper teamwork and coordination.
Recognize Your Role In The Game
Team composition is a very important aspect in playing Invasion, as every role is vital in winning each round.
The roles you need to fulfill are similar to that of normal games; ADC’s dish out huge amounts of damage, support champions are responsible for healing and applying buffs to their team mates, tanks are the frontliners who soak a lot of damage from the monsters, and the mages are the ones who apply burst damage.
However, Invasion’s champion roster is limited to those with Star Guardian skins. This means you’ll need to know each of the available champions’ strengths and weaknesses in order to properly assess which team composition works best.
For example, Ahri is usually played as a mobile AP mage. But in Invasion, she is the most viable option to play a tank when your mission is to finish the game without Poppy.

The Optimal Items In The Game
Now is not the time to be building weird and uncommon builds in this game. It’s better if you stick to the items that can help you survive and kill a ton of wave creeps. Gathering gold won’t be a problem because you are given gold depending on your performance after every round.
To cut it short, build items that are recommended for your role. For supports, Redemption and Locket of the Iron Solari are solid options. For ADC’s, Infinity Edge and attack speed items help you clear monsters faster. Mages should build items that greatly increase their ability power while tanks should focus on building health and armor items.
The Big One
The final boss of the invasion game mode is a giant Rift Herald that deals massive amounts of damage when caught in his abilities. It is very important that you coordinate with your team because one small mistake can cost your team the entire game.
The most important thing when killing this boss is that you must always try to kill the other monsters surrounding him. Killing all the Vel’Koz first can really help you in dealing with Rift Herald. Always try to stay close with your team and avoid his charge, as it can knock you back away from your team mates.
The pillars and obstacles are your friend in this level, blocking the abilities of the Rift Herald. Stay away from the red arrows and stay behind a pillar if he casts the massive AoE ability. Kiting Rift Herald while killing the surrounding enemies are the only things you need to do in order to finish the game.
