North America’s Team SoloMid (TSM) once again fell down in the group stage after losing three of their four games on day seven of the Worlds Champion 2017 in Wuhan, China.

The NALCS summer and spring split champion was unable to take their talents to the international stage. The crumble of Team SoloMid includes losing to Flash Wolves in a dominating fashion with a kill score of 18-3. TSM was given one final chance in the tiebreaker against Misfits but still was unable to capitalize.

This is the third straight year that Team SoloMid was unable to reach past the group stage of Worlds.

NA and EU fans are bringing back the salt truck with another matchup in group D to prove who is the best region in terms of individual and team skills. While many fans already concluded that TSM will stomp group D and eventually get the top spot, Team WE and misfits slowly worked their way to the top to secure the first two spots.

TSM held their ground in the first game against Misfits with a win. Misfits was unable to capitalize on the Yasuo top pick against Gnar. The European team also tried to stray away from the Ardent Censer meta after picking Blitzcrank support.

TSM was looking good in the group stage until they faced Flash Wolves. Flash Wolves surprised everyone as they stomped the heavily-favoured Team SoloMid, giving Misfits a second chance at getting to the top.

The tiebreaker match against both teams was a shocker. Team SoloMid was plagued with questionable decisions in the drafting phase and the game. Parth Naidu, the coach of TSM, opted to go with an out of place Karma support instead of safe picks such as Lulu and Janna.

The Jayce of TSM Hauntzer also had a hard time in the top lane against Misfits’ Cho’Gath. Misfits capitalized on the passiveness of TSM Svenskeren, and camped top lane to deny Jayce farm and experience. MSF Alphari’s Cho’Gath proved to be a heavy load against TSM, as they were unable to stop him.

Team SoloMid wasn’t able to defend most of their towers and objectives beyond the 15th-minute mark. This led to a series of unfortunate events for Team SoloMid, eventually crumbling down in 30 minutes, 10-2.

China’s Team WE and Europe’s Misfits will advance to the quarterfinals.
