Guard Guide in Persona 5 Tactica (P5T)

What is Guard?

Reduces damage taken from long-range attacks.

Guard protects its user from long-range attacks, reducing the attack’s damage significantly. However, when in Guard state, your characters are vulnerable to melee attacks and skills, so it is better to use the Guard when they are far from the enemies.

How to break the enemy’s guard

To break an enemy’s guard, you must use melee attacks or skill attacks (persona). Melee attacks’ damage won’t be reduced by Guard, but skill attacks’ damage will be reduced since they are considered long-range attacks.

How to set your units to Guard state

End a character’s turn while being covered by an object or an obstacle on the battlefield.

Characters that are behind a cover will automatically enter a Guard state once you end their turn. Hiding behind objects and obstacles on the battlefield will protect your character from long-range attacks and being knocked down during an enemy’s turn. Characters without cover, on the other hand, will be defenseless against long-range attacks and are prone to being Downed.
