Following a livestream over at Niconico; Bandai Namco brings back its own hunting action game God Eater back to light with the recently confirmed sequel. First announced way back in Tokyo Game Show 2016, the new God Eater game is now slated for home console with a confirmed but tentative localized release date.

Despite being similar to Capcom’s Monster Hunter, God Eater had built itself a steady fanbase thanks to its elaborate post-apocalyptic story line and visuals that cater to the large demographic of people who love Anime.

The last game left us in a world that grew even more complex with the introduction of a disease named the “Black Plague” and with the recent press release, it has been confirmed that the world of God Eater could only grow darker with this new expansion.

Below is the publisher’s summary for the game via RPGSite:

Earth no longer resembles the home we know of now. The Aragami, terrifying beasts that live only to consume, are carving a path of destruction and misery wherever they are encountered. To combat this threat an elite group of heroes known as God Eaters are called upon to save humanity. God Eaters are individuals who have been bestowed upon them the ability to wield powerful new God Arcs, special weapons powered by Oracle Cells and the only known weapons capable of destroying the monstrous Aragami. However, another mission is coming into focus; something is happening to the God Eaters and the line between light and dark has never been so thin. It’s time to start breaking free from the cursed shackles that bind the souls of the God Eaters as the battle rages on around them.

As of late there had been no words from Bandai Namco about a definite release date and as for what platform will the game be on.

They had only stated it would be for home console however that doesn’t stop its fans from speculating that the game may have a mid-quarter to an early 2018  release, if not having a simultaneous launch with Code Vein.

This being speculated due to the prompt release of an English translation for the Japanese Trailer which showcased a basic rundown of the current atmosphere you’ll find in the world and a teaser for new weapons and an enhanced gameplay.
