Lovecraftian Horror Game, Moons of Madness Trailer Released!

This is a Moons of Madness news article. Here you will learn about the new Moons of Madness trailer.

Moons of Madness Trailer Released!

The new Moons of Madness trailer was released on August 9, 2017, exclusively for the Gamespot Youtube channel. It features a short look into The Martian-style gorgeous visuals of this sci-fi horror game.

This trailer features astronaut Shane Neweheart as he delves into the cosmic horror-piqued sights on the research station, Trailblazer Alpha. The trailer begins with some eerie music over shots of a mars rover. Shane and Orson are arguing over music as the pilot manages to stop something odd out of view. It seems that there’s a situation here, and Shane leaves to investigate.

Is that…a shoggoth?

We see shots of the exploration and the gorgeous would-be game UI, as well as a dark and eldritch cave and a strange temple within. All hell breaks loose, and we see shots of a woman we now know as Shane’s mother attack her son, as well as a whole lot of other strange shots.

Moons of Madness and its developers are straight up creating a game in the universe of the Cthulhu Mythos, but also delving into the nature of the human side of mental illness–the side untouched by eldritch abominations and nameless monstrosities. As we see in the trailer, not only does Shane delve into the unknowable depths of the dark, underground temple, he also struggles with odd flashes and hallucinations. This is one of the intentions of the Moons of Madness devs, in that the game will treat mental illness in a better light, as a way of coping with the greater, exterior and utterly alien horrors that Shane will face.
