About Charger

Charger’s Characteristic

  • Charger can fire charged shots
  • Splat Charger can be fired by pressing the button continuously. By charging the weapon its range and damage will increase. The amount charged can be indicated with the circle around the crosshair.
The charge shots range is the longest among all weapons. Also with a fully charged shots, Almost all Charger can splat an enemy in one hit. Another strong point of Charger is its Ink Speed

  • Charger’s line of fire is visible
  • When charging, its line of fire is visible to you and the enemy. Be careful since the enemy can find out your position and aim.

  • Mobility decreases while charging
  • When charging this weapon, your movement speed and the maximum height when jumping will decrease. You will essentially not be able to move around and shoot like a Shooter. Keep in mind that moving and jumping is more of a method to adjust aim when charging.

  • Weapons with scope have narrow range
  • Some chargers have scopes on them. By using the scope you will be able to zoom when aiming, but will have much narrower line of sight. Be wary for other enemies when looking through the scope. Also, the weapons with a scope has more range then those without a scope.

  • Have to directly hit the enemy
  • Unlike other weapons, you have to directly land the shots on the enemy since Charger does not have any spread damage. However, it will paint all the floor or wall under its line of fire.

    Charger Series

    Splat Charger Series

Splat Charger’s have more range than all weapons besides E-liter 3K. It has good ink efficiency and can be used to paint. It is recommended for both beginners and pros.

    E-liter 3K Series

The E-liter 3K’s have the longest range among all weapons. It’s better to splat enemies rather than to paint.

    Squiffer Series

The Squiffer have better ink efficiency and charge time than other Chargers, but have less range and power. It’s more of a Shooter with long range rather than a Charger.

    Bambloozer Series

Bamblozer’s have more range and better charge time than the Squiffer series. But it will only do 99.9 damage at max. You will need to deal some damage to efficiently splat enemies with this.

    Strategy

  • What a Charger has to do
  • Generally speaking, a Charger should be splatting enemies rather than painting the floor.
Charger isn’t the type of weapon suited for painting, but it does have the ability to one-sidedly attack the enemy due to its range.
You should be able to defeat at least 5 enemies without getting splatted as much as other weapons. It’s also important to splat the enemy fighting against your ally, and to paint the enemy’s ground to support your ally. You can also paint the enemy territory to let your ally move more freely and advantageously.
If you are not used to splatting enemy’s with a Charger, you should paint enemy territory or support your ally to contribute to your team.

  • Aim form above
  • Because a Charger will be splatting enemies from distance, there will be lots of obstacles blocking your line of fire. Therefore you should aim form a high spot and splat enemies below you.

  • Don’t forget to change your position
  • After you defeat a enemy, you will be revealing your position. There’s also a chance of another enemy spotting your line of fire. It is best to change your position after splatting one or two enemies.

    Techniques

  • Charge Keep
  • You can become and squid and maintain the charge for a short amount of time. Use this technique with other techniques such as the wall blind mentioned below to hide your position and line of fire.

  • Quick Scope
  • Most of the enemies will try to dodge the shot after they the line of fire. Hide your line of fire with a wall or floor, and quickly aim at the enemy to make it harder for them to dodge your shot.

  • Low Blind
  • Aim your horizontal axis at the enemy, point the gun low to hide your line of fire, and point upwards with your wrist at the right moment. This technique can be preformed anywhere.

  • High Blind
  • Aim your horizontal axis at the enemy, and point the gun upwards to hide your line of fire. Same type of technique as he low blind.

  • Wall Blind
  • Aim your vertical axis at the enemy, and use a wall to hide your line of fire. Jump over the wall at the right moment to splat the enemy.

  • Jump Shot
  • Aim your horizontal axis at the enemy, then jump and adjust aim at the same time. With this, you will be able to attack without having to expose yourself, and it will make it more difficult for the enemies to spot your position.

  • Foot Shot
  • Instead of directly aiming at the enemy, shoot below them first to sow them down, then take the steady shot.

    Recommended Gear

  • Ink Recovery Up
  • Ink Saver (Main)
  • Ink Resistance Up
  • Run Speed Up
  • Because Charger will be consuming lots of ink when firing a fully charged shot, Ink Saver (Main) is recommended. If sub weapons are frequently used, Ink Recovery Up would be helpful. Since Charger is not good at painting, Ink Resistance Up can be used to avoid risks when your territory is painted. You will be able to quickly move to the next sniping position with Run Speed Up.

    Countermeasures Against Other Weapons

    Splat Dualies

If in the range of dualies, you will have the disadvantage. Take some distance if a dualies comes up close. At mid-range, you will be able to dominate against it.

    Shooter

The countermeasures for shooters is the same as dualies. be wary of long-range shooters such as the Squelcher series.

    Charger

If you have more range than the enemy’s Charger, splat them from distance. Generally speaking, a Charger with shorter range will have the advantage when both Charger’s are in range.

    Rollers・Brushes

Charger will have the advantage in long-range and mid-range battles. Avoid close quarter combat against it.

    Slosher

Can be splatted easily by attacking from distance. Don’t let it come up close.

    Splatling

Be careful if the enemy is using the Hydra Splatling series, as they have the same range as the Splatterscope series. Other than that, the Charger will have advantage at range.
