World 1-1: Up and Over

Welcome to the very first stage of Super Mario Run: Up and Over! In this part of Super Mario, you’ll be jumping around and getting through places. Each part of the stage lets you explore the newest features in Super Mario Run. Some of these features including hanging on walls and life bubbles. Like any other Super Mario Game, it involves quite an amount of jumping. However, as this is the first stage, this place is quite straight forward.

Things to Expect while in Up and Over

  1. It’s extremely straight forward. As Up and Over is the first stage of the game, many of the pathways in this particular stage are easy. Most of them include coin collecting and squashing mushrooms before they give you a problem. If you’re having a hard time, all you have to do is follow the coins.
  2. Follow the coins. Picking up coins is always a good thing. When you grab some of the coins, you also have a chance to buy new power-ups and rank up a high score. While you’re collecting coins, you can also increase the amount by connecting the collection in a chain.
  3. Watch out for the mushrooms. It wouldn’t be a Super Mario Jump Puzzle without the mushrooms. When getting past them, all you have to do is squash them before they get close. Also, hit the golden boxes. They also drop power-up mushrooms which makes Mario big and gives him an extra shield when he gets hit by the enemy.
  4. Watch out for time. Unlike the other Super Mario games, the jump puzzles here now have a limit. In this stage, if you find a box with a purple clock in it, it will add to your time. While exploring the world of Up and Over, don’t forget to keep track because higher time means higher bonus.

Location of Black Coins

The first black coin will be located a few moments the level starts. Take note of the stone wall and high jump. Cling onto it and follow the trail of coins before grabbing the black coin.

The next black coin is just up ahead. Look for the clouds and jump from golden blocks. As long as you jump up from the last block, you should be able to reach the clouds.

The third black coin is in a pit. Stick to the ground and slide down the wall to grab the black coin.

The fourth black coin needs a pause button to activate. Step on the pause button which will create several platforms to pop up. Jump on the platforms and follow the trail of coins for the black coin.

The final black coin is near a couple of Goombas. Smack the box nearby the trail of Goombas and you’ll get the next black coin.
