What are Base Camps?

Base Camps are outposts that give you access to useful features during Pokémon survey excursions outside of Jubilife Village. Stop by at these locations when you need a break from your adventure to heal your Pokémon or craft items with the available workbench.

How to Unlock Base Camps

It is assumed that Base Camps will be unlocked early on during the main story. More information on this will be added when the game comes out.

What to Do at Base Camps

Allow your Pokémon to Rest

Base Camps let you and your Pokémon rest to recover their health as something akin to a mini Pokémon Center. This allows you to last longer when out in the field if your team has suffered too much damage from battle or from various hazards found all around the map.

When you are at a severe disadvantage in battle, feel free to run away and rest at the Base Camp before continuing your survey of the area.

Lets you advance the time of day.

You can also rest at a Base Camp to easily fast-forward the time of day to morning, afternoon, and night. This allows you to explore various areas of the game at different times were to trigger special events or catch Pokémon that only appear at specific times of the day.

Let you Craft Items using the Workbench

You can also craft different items using workbenches found at Base Camps which is useful if you need to restock on things like Pokeballs, healing items, and battle items. Make sure to obtain as many Crafting Recipes as you can by purchasing them from craftworks or progressing through the main story to be able to make items that will help you on your excursion.
