All Gyroids List and Guide for Animal Crossing: New Horizons
What are Gyroids?
Gyroids are mysterious collectible furniture included in the last free update (version 2.0) of Animal Crossing: Horizons. These figures produce various musical sounds and can be placed on desks, counters, and other surfaces to decorate your home.
Gyroids resemble real-life terracotta clay figures called Haniwa found in Japan which were used for funeral rituals during the 3rd to 6th century AD. Interestingly, Haniwa is also what Gyroids are called in the Japanese version of the game.
How to Get Gyroids
Unearth Gyroid fragments and plant them on the ground.
Gyroids are obtained by planting Gyroid Fragments on the ground and watering them. You can find Gyroid Fragments by digging them up from the ground, similar to fossils.
After burying and watering the Gyroid Fragment, you must wait overnight. Then, you can unearth them to get a random Gyroid. Note that upon finding a Gyroid Fragment for the first time, more can be dug up on days after it has rained.
Playing Music with Gyroids
Each Gyroid will make a unique sound based on its type. You can place certain combinations of Gyroids in one area to hear them “sing” together, especially near a radio o record player.
Customizing Gyroids
You can also customize the color of any Gyroids you have collected to your preferences or to match your room’s shade. There are numerous colors to choose from so feel free to paint your Gyroid as much as you want.
