How to Get Permanent Ladders in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
What is a Permanent Ladder?
A permanent ladder is a craftable tool added in Animal Crossing: New Horizon’s last free update (version 2.0) that you can place against cliffs to easily climb up. The item is extremely handy for allowing you to move around the island faster.
Requirements to Get a Permanent Ladder
To get a permanent ladder, you must first purchase the Wooden Ladder Set-up Kit Recipe from Nook’s Cranny (Timmy and Tommy’s shop) for 2000 Bells. You will find the item recipes on the green shelf on the right side of the store.
Materials and Crafting
Below are the materials required to craft a permanent ladder and how to get them. Once you have obtained the Wooden Ladder Set-up Kit Recipe and the required number of materials, you will be able to make a permanent ladder on a workbench.

Using the Permanent Ladder
Once you have crafted the permanent ladder, you can install it on the side of a cliff by going into your inventory and selecting it. Select “Set Next to Cliff” to prop it against the cliff wall. Then, simply move up the ladder to go up.
