What is The Roost?
The Roost is a café located inside the museum and is among the new features introduced in Animal Crossing: New Horizon’s last free update (version 2.0). The café update also features the anticipated return of Brewster, a quiet and aloof pigeon who runs The Roost.
Available After Downloading the Free Version 2.0 Update
You may visit The Roost cafe after downloading update version 2.0 and talking to him on the remote island. Doing so will prompt him to set-up his café inside the museum.
To find the café, simply go inside the museum after renovations have been completed and head upstairs. Sit at the counter upon entering the café and talk to Brewster who will offer you coffee for 200 Bells a cup.
How to Unlock Brewster’s Café (The Roost)
To unlock The Roost, you must have already acquired the museum on your island. You should have also donated at least one sea creature to Blathers to add to the museum’s collection. Then, follow the steps below.
| 1 | Talk to Blathers who will talk about building a café inside the museum. |

| 2 | You will then need to find Brewster to set up the café. |
| 3 | Go to the pier and agree to pay 1000 Nook Miles for Kapp’n’s Boat Tour to sail to a remote island. |
| 4 | When you arrive, look for Brewster and talk to him. Afterwards, head back to your island and talk to Blathers. |
| 5 | The museum will then begin renovations to add the Brewster’s café so it will be closed off the next day. |
| 6 | The café will be accessible the day after that. |
Who is Brewster?
Brewster is a male pigeon non-playable character (NPC) appearing in past games of the Animal Crossing series. Prior to the version 2.0 update, Brewster was among the most requested and awaited characters to be added to the game. Fans had waited for his return in the game and to taste his brewed coffee again.
Inviting Villagers Using Amiibo
You may also invite your favorite villagers to the café to have a cup of coffee with you. After entering The Roost café, head into the yellow telephone stand that has an amiibo icon. You may summon the character that you want using the compatible amiibo accessory.
Enjoying a Cup of Coffee with Your Friends
You can also share relaxing moments with your friends at the café. Some island residents, including the ever-busy Tom Nook and Isabelle, will occasionally drop by for a cup of Brewster’s exquisite brew as well so feel free to chat with them when they visit the café.
