Jeanne Playstyle Abilities
Magic (Thorn Bind)
In terms of magic abilities, Jeanne is also able to use Thorn Bind to immobilize foes like Cereza. The difference is that Jeanne’s version of the move has a larger area-of-effect (AoE), allowing her to bind multiple enemies at once before her Red Cheshire Charles can decimate them with melee attacks.
The downside of this stronger Thorn Bind move is its longer cooldown. This means that you should aim to deal as much damage to groups of enemies using Charles before Jeanne’s Thorn Bind ability wears off.
Red Cheshire “Charles”
Like Cereza, Jeanne also gains her own version of Cheshire which adopts the silver-haired witch’s signature red color. The Red Cheshire Charles also has the ability to change forms at will using any of the four Elemental Cores or switch between Unleashed and Hug Mode throughout the post-game chapter.
Jeanne’s Tale Secret Chapter
Jeanne’s Tale is a secret story chapter that can be cleared in around 1 hour based on the player’s skill in solving puzzles, taking down regular enemies and bosses, and meeting primary objectives. Note that there are also new Tir Na Nog challenges that become available during Jeanne’s adventure through the faerie forest so it is necessary to play through Jeanne’s Tale to get 100% completion.
Affirmer of Phenomena (True Final Boss)
Towards the end of the post-game chapter, Jeanne and Charles face a being called Affirmer of Phenomena who has taken Cereza captive. Jeanne vows to rescue her Umbran sister at all costs during the encounter, triggering the game’s true final boss battle.
Manual Save is Disabled.
Note that you will not be able to save manually via rest points during Jeanne’s Tale. Progress is automatically recorded as you play through the extra story chapter.
Rewards
Completing Jeanne’s Tale unlocks three (3) new outfits in the Costumes menu which are Jeanne, Charles, and Arch Eve Origin. Equipping the Jeanne and Charles outfits on Cereza and Cheshire respectively will change your character’s moves and mechanics to that of Jeanne and Charles (essentially allowing you to play as the special characters during the 13 main story chapters).
