Synergetic Combat Gameplay
The Bayonetta series is known for its fast-paced and often challenging combat which allows players to link a variety of weapons and magic attacks to perform stylish combos. In the prequel, Cereza plays a more supportive role where she binds or hinders enemies for Cheshire to defeat.
Unlike the first three games in the series where Bayonetta (Cereza) normally battles foes head-on by herself, Bayonetta Origins will require Cereza and Cheshire to work as a team to get through each encounter. Players can use the left joy con to control Cereza who can cast Umbran magic to immobilize or weaken enemies. Cheshire, meanwhile, can perform powerful demonic attacks and is operated using the right joy con.

Visuals and Art Style
Bayonetta Origins adopts colorful cel-shaded graphics which give the game a storybook fairy-tale vibe. The game’s visual departure from earlier entries in the franchise is obviously intended to enhance the storybook feel of Cereza and Cheshire’s adventure. Players will be treated to vibrant colors that give life to Avalon Forest and the strange creatures inhabiting it.
