The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) received a lot of praise last Worlds because of the short-lived cinderella run of Albus Nox Luna. Now, CIS is stronger than ever and the fans can only hope for another good run in this year’s Worlds. Let us look at the team who qualified in the LCL championship to represent CIS in the main stage!
Gambit Esports
Gambit Esports may be a considered a dream team to many, as they were formed after a disastrous spring split which placed them in sixth. The team went for a complete overhaul with only DiamondProx remaining as the original member. They qualified for Worlds after winning the summer split eventually.
Gambit Esports is composed of players who’ve had Worlds experience before except for Blasting. The team hopes to make a deep playoff run this Worlds. To be fair, it sounds very possible considering their lineup right now.
Gambit Esports LCL Starting Team
PVPStejos can be considered as one of the greats in the LCL scene. He was a very prominent player and jungler before joining Gambit to become their top laner. He is an exceptional leader that dominates pretty well in all aspects. PVPStejos has a lot of Worlds experience, hoping this time may be the time where he would win it all.
DiamondProx is one of the original jungle badboys of LCL. With a lot of experience playing in the international stage, DiamondProx hopes to lead his newly-formed team to victory. He is a very aggressive jungler that often counter jungles and applies pressure to the enemy jungle.
The mid laner and also an experienced player in CIS is Kira. Kira is also famous for being one of the players on the team, aside from PVPStejos, to get out of the group stage as a Wildcard team with Albux Nox Luna. Kira’s experience and hard work truly deserves him to win it all in Worlds.
Blasting is the ADC for Gambit that has the least amount of international experience. However, his lack of experience internationally is buried by his stellar performance in CIS. He was able to lead his teams to deep playoffs run and an LCL trophy when he was in Virtus.Pro. Blasting hopes to capitalize his dominance in LCLto his first ever Worlds appearance.
Another player worth noting in this team is none other than EDward. He has a huge fanbase not just in Europe, but also in North America because he was a former member of Team Curse. EDward is a very versatile player that can play mechanical champions with ease like Thresh and Alistar. He can also play safe supports like Janna and Rakan. EDward steps up whenever possible, so expect his strong presence coming in Worlds.
