LoL World Championships News - Play-Ins Stage Day 4: The Knockout Bracket is Set!

This article is about the results in the Play-ins Stage day 4 of the annual League of Legends Worlds Tournament held in Huwan, China.

Fnatic, 1907 Fenerbahce Esports, Hong Kong Attitude, and Young Generation have advanced to the knockout stage after a grueling play-ins stage day 4 tournament in Huwan, China.

It was a very intense last day as no teams have in bracket C and D have advanced without losing at least a game.  Kaos Latin Gamers and Rampage were not able to qualify further after the former lost their steam at the last day and the latter had sub-optimal performance in both days of the play-ins.

Young Generation Clutches Their Way to the Second Round of the Play-ins Stage Day 4

We all knew Fnatic was the heavy-favorites coming into the play-ins Stage Day 4. Many people were even saying they will sweep the first and second round of the stage. It was going well for them until they faced Young Generation in their final match, which gave their first lost of the play-ins.

Young Generation’s bot lane Big Koro and Palette pounded Fnatic’s Rekkles and Jesiz,  both of them only getting 1/3/0 and 0/2/1, respectively.

With the win, Young Generation eliminated Kaos Latin Gamers after defeating them as well earlier. Kaos Latin was unable to capitalize their dominance in the day 3 and lost all of their games in the final day. Here is the final bracket for Group C.

1907 Fenerbache Esports Dominates Bracket D with Ease

The Turkish team proved to everyone that they are Worlds-ready after securing the number one spot against Vietnam’s Young Generation in the play-ins stage day 4.

The 50-minute game was intense to say the least, with both teams switching kills and securing objectives back-and-forth. It was then at the dying moments of the game where 1907 Fenerbasche Esports got an Elder Dragon and Baron secured to give them the win and the first spot at bracket D.

Hong Kong Attitude finished in second place with a score of 3-2 after defeating 1907 Fenerbasche and Rampage earlier in the match, but losing at the tiebreaker for first against the former.

Rampage was non-existent not only in the play-ins stage day 4, but in the previous day as well with an abysmal 0-4 outing.

Now that the play-ins stage day 4 is over, Here is the second stage matchups. The games will be best-of-5, and the winner will advance to the main stage of Worlds 2017.
