You can get the Rope in Metal Gear Solid (MGS1) inside the event room that can be found upon entering the communication building A.
How to use Rope
Can rappel on roof
The Rope item is used for the rappelling on the roof of Communications Tower A. It will require you to kick the wall with × and go down with the direction key ↓. Press the left and right direction keys and kick the wall to jump in that direction.
Keep your feet on the wall while pushing 〇. If you press the left or right direction key while your feet are on the wall, you will move a little in that direction.
