How to Beat Liquid Snake Guide for Metal Gear Solid (MGS1)
Liquid Snake Boss Guide (Strategy)

Metal Gear Solid (MGS1) Boss List
Keep an eye on the remaining time.
The fight against Liquid Snake must be cleared within 2 minutes and 30 seconds. If you get a Game Over, the time limit will be adjusted to 3 minutes during your succeeding attempts.
Deal damage to Liquid Snake with punches and kicks.
The fight against Liquid Snake requires you to damage the boss using punches and kicks like in the Cyborg Ninja battle.
Kicks are more powerful than punches so you can reduce Liquid Snake’s health faster by landing the former. You can also throw Liquid Snake with the □ button, though it is not recommended since the damage is low.
Do not end your attack with a kick to dodge Liquid Snake’s counterattack.
A good way to consistently damage Liquid Snake is to attack him with two punches and stopping before the kick comes out. Then, quickly run away to avoid his counterattack. Repeat the process and you should avoid taking any damage during this phase.
Mash the button repeatedly if you are hanging on the ledge.
If Liquid Manages to knock you off the ledge, you will be forced into a hanging state. Mash the button repeatedly to climb back up.
Liquid Snake will perform tackles when his health is low.
When Liquid Snake’s health is low, he will squat down and start performing a tackle move that goes in a straight line. During this phase, avoid initiating the attack and wait for him to do his tackle move. Move out of the way and attack him as he recovers.
Liquid Snake will perform a reversal when he is hanging by the ledge.
Knocking Liquid Snake off the ledge will force him into a hanging stage. If you approach him, he can do a reversal attack as he climbs up that can knock you away. When you see Liquid Snake hanging, move away.
The battle will not end unless you force Liquid Snake to fall off of Metal Gear Rex.
The battle will not end even if Liquid Snake’s HP is reduced to 0. You must land a kick to finally knock him off Metal Gear Rex to end the battle.
