Vulcan Raven Boss Guide (Strategy)

Metal Gear Solid (MGS1) Boss List

Avoid standing in front of Vulcan Raven.

Vulcan Raven has a wide frontal field of view which allows him to spot you even if you are just slightly off to the side from where he is facing.

Avoid stopping in front of Vulcan Raven throughout the fight.

Attack the boss from the side or from the back with Nikita remote-controlled missiles.

Using Nikita remote control missiles is an effective way to deal damage from a long distance. Do not fire missiles when the boss is facing you as he will shoot them down. Instead, aim at the side or from behind. You can also wait at a corner and fire the missile as Vulcan Raven turns.

Throw Grenades in the direction Vulcan Raven is going.

When you run out of missiles, you can throw Grenades to deal damage.

Check the direction of Vulcan Raven’s movement with the soliton radar and throw a Grenade in the direction where he is moving to.
