More FIFA Games For Switch
With the success of the FIFA video game franchise in consoles like the Playstation and the Xbox, it is highly likely that this success will be replicated on a Nintendo console as well.
The Nintendo Switch has gain quite a following over the past few months since its release, and EA Sports decided to take advantage of that success by releasing a unique version of FIFA 18 for the said console.
Although the Nintendo Switch version of FIFA 18 lacks several features found in other versions like The Journey story mode, EA Sports promises that the version is just as good as the other versions that uses the Frostbite engine because of the Switch’s unique control scheme.
In a recent interview for Gamespot, Andrei Lazarescu (producer for EA Sports), said:
“We created a custom scheme for [the Nintendo Switch], called Four Button Mode. The advantage of it, is that with just one console, you can play it 1v1, without buying anything else.”
Lazarescu pointed out that since the Nintendo Switch has a different control scheme than the PS4 and Xbox One controllers, they created a scheme wherein the game would still be playable for both veterans of the franchise and beginners. The Switch also lets friends play 1v1 without buying another controller because of its detachable Joy-Cons.
The producer of the popular franchise also said that FIFA 18 may not be the only FIFA game coming to Switch, stating:
“I think we are going to see more FIFA on Switch in the future.”
With EA Sports and Nintendo renewing their partnership in bringing the renowned franchise to the Switch, it is likely that there will be more sports video games to come for the Switch and not just the football franchise.
