Stage Walkthrough for Through the Tunnel
Area 1
| 1 | From the starting location, go down the defeat the enemies near the entrance of the tunnel. |

| 2 | Swallow the Hothead and head to the right side past the barricades. Light the lantern there (Light 4 Lantern Switches: 1/4). |
| 3 | Go up the ladder and move through the tunnel. |
| 4 | In the next area, cross the gap by jumping on the steel platform in the middle. |
| 5 | Swallow the dome to go into Dome Mouth mode and open it. Then, grab the star inside and head to the left to find a secret room (Find the Secret Room). |
| 6 | Take out the Awoofies. Then, open the chest to find the first hidden Waddle Dee (Save the Hidden Waddle Dees: 1/4). |
| 7 | Leave the room from where you came in and continue going north. |
| 8 | Cross the steel beam in the next area and exit through the door. |
Area 2
| 1 | Move forward and light the second lantern on your left (Light the 4 Lantern Switches: 2/4). |

| 2 | Continue ahead. Wait for the rising platform to go down before crossing or you may take damage from the spiked enemy above. |
| 3 | Keep moving northeast and you will find the third lantern past the second rising platform behind a barricade (Light the 4 Lantern Switches: 3/4). |
| 4 | Then, head left and climb up the square vents on the side of the locked building. Hit the switch to open the lock and pick up the item inside. |
| 5 | Continue progressing through the level by moving across the rising platforms on the right. |
| 6 | You will eventually reach the fourth lantern on a stone block surrounded by Gordos (Light 4 Lantern Switches: 4/4). |
| 7 | Before exiting through the door, climb the stack of block on the right and jump up to the vent. Jump up again to reach the upper walkway and go around to the left. Destroy the bomb block to reveal a chest underneath. Open it to find the second hidden Waddle Dee (Save the Hidden Waddle Dees: 2/4). |
| 8 | Exit through the door to the next area. |
Area 3
| 1 | Move forward and take out the enemies along the way. |

| 2 | Approach the long rope and light it up. Then, make a beeline for the cannon ahead using fire dash and jump over the gap in the middle. |
| 3 | Get in the cannon before the fire reaches it and it should launch you upwards to destroy the blocks above. This will reveal the third hidden Waddle Dee (Save the Hidden Waddle Dees: 3/4). |
| 4 | Go back down and cross the steel beam. Exit through the door leading to the next area. |
Area 4
| 1 | Move forward and climb the scaffolding while taking out the small and large Kabu. |

| 2 | Swallow the steel stairs to enter Stair Mouth Mode. Then, go right destroy the steel blocks and group of Kabu along the way. |
| 3 | Just a little ways past where the Kabus appeared is a cracked wall that you can destroy while in Stair mode. Do so to reveal a secret area with some Star Coins. |
| 4 | Continue going right and you should see a wanted poster above (just before the rope that leads to another cannon). Position the stairs near the poster and go up. Jump toward the poster and hit it with a fireball to destroy it (Remove the Wanted Poster). |
| 5 | Swallow the stairs again and position it near the platform with the bomb block at the top. |
| 6 | Climb up the stairs and use the bomb block to destroy the wall. Pick up the item behind it. |
| 7 | Head back down and swallow the stairs again. Then, continue going right. |
| 8 | You will eventually find another rope that will light a cannon above a platform. Position the stairs near the platform and light the rope. Then, quickly go up and jump in the cannon to reach the area above with the fourth and last hidden Waddle Dee (Save the Hidden Waddle Dees: 4/4). Open the two chests to get Star Coins. |
| 9 | Go right and descend the ladder. Then, go through the tunnel leading to the next area. |
| 10 | Head for the Waddle Dees ahead to clear the stage. |
