Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater also includes VR Missions which are a series of stages with specific stealth objectives that players must clear. VR Missions have since become a staple in many Metal Gear Solid games that players can spend time on outside of the game’s main story.

As players explore the jungle, they will be able to find plants and wildlife to consume to replenish Snake’s stamina or use as medicine to treat his wounds. A camouflage system has also been implemented in the game that lets Snake put on different attire and face paint to blend in the environment.
