Set the mousetrap in an area where the Tsuchinoko appears.
As soon as you get a mousetrap, set it up in a location where the Tsuchinoko is likely to be found.
After that, return to the area where you set the trap, and if you’re lucky, you will find a Tsuchinoko that is immobilized in the trap and unable to escape.

Tsuchinoko will be confiscated during the torture.
During the time when Snake is being tortured, all of your belongings, including the Tsuchinoko (if you have already obtained it by this point), will be taken away from you.
However, there is no need to worry because, even after the torture, it is still possible for you to get a Tsuchinoko in other areas afterwards.
Capture a Tsuchinoko again.
The Tsuchinoko that have been confiscated are released into the trees close to the basin of the Tikhogornyj waterfalls.
Capture the Tsuchinoko using the Mk22 to keep them alive. Once you have captured it, clear the area and proceed to the next one.

The South Bolshaya Past is the best spot to catch a Tsuchinoko.
To begin, get the mousetrap under the bed and another one inside the food storage in Bolshaya Past Relay Station.
After getting the mousetraps, return to South Bolshaya Past and set the traps near the area’s exit.
After that, you can catch a Tsuchinoko as you move back and forth between the Relay Station and the South of Bolshaya Past.
