About the Nioh Series

The original Nioh, released in 2017 is a dark fantasy action RPG developed by Team Ninja for the Playstation 4 (PS4). The game features challenging gameplay reminiscent of the Souls series, though adopting a mission-based approach to progress through the game. The game takes place during the Sengoku Era of feudal Japan, where William, a western sailor, adopts the ways of the samurai to combat the yokai spreading chaos in the land.

The Nioh Collection, which bundles both Nioh and Nioh 2 along with all released DLCs, was released on February 5, 2021 on the Playstation 5 (PS5).

About Nioh 2

Nioh 2 also takes place during the Sengoku Era of Japan, where you will be facing against Yokais like the original Nioh. However Nioh 2 features a mysterious half-human, half-supernatural Yokai warrior with the ability to transform into a Yokai to unleash devastating paranormal powers.

New Features

Character Creation

In the original Nioh you were only able to play as William the western sailer. Nioh 2 offers players to create their own character to play as with variety of customizable face parts, physique, and character voices to choose from.

Revamped Combat System

The combat system is mainly based off the fan-favorite elements of the original Nioh, but revamped and better. Players will be able to use traditional samurai weapons such as katanas and hatchets, or fill the Amrita guage to transform into a Yokai with the power to use unique abilities and mighty attacks.
